A drilling and tapping machining center is a type of CNC machine tool for cutting metals, commonly known as a "drilling and milling tapping machine", "drilling and milling machine", "drilling and milling machining center", etc. It is currently the fastest and most accurate machine tool in the market that integrates cutting, drilling, and tapping. The drilling and tapping machining center is derived from the vertical machining center, and the machine tool occupies a smaller area and has a smaller machining stroke than the vertical machining center. It is mainly used for processing light and small metals and is not suitable for heavy cutting. The configuration usually adopts a servo-type tool magazine, BT30 spindle, and linear guide rail.

According to classification and positioning, the manufacturers of drilling and tapping machining centers each have their advantages. Customers should evaluate the positioning of the machine model to narrow down their selection range for the products they need to process and select a suitable high-quality brand based on the positioning of the machine model. Huaen Intelligence is a high-quality emerging mid-range brand, with well-known international brands such as Fanuc and Brother from Japan.

Compared with vertical machining centers, the main characteristics of drilling and tapping centers are small and flexible, fast moving speed, high spindle speed, fast drilling and tapping, and fast tool-changing. The drilling center adopts linear guide rails, with a maximum fast-moving speed of 48m/min or 64m/min. The common maximum speed of the BT30 spindle can reach 20000rpm/24000rpm, and the adjacent tool change time is 1 second. At present, the CNC systems commonly used in drilling and tapping centers in the market are FANUC (Japan), MISUBISHI (Japan), Syntec (Taiwan, China), and iNC (Chinese Mainland).

The drilling center is a universal machine tool that can process most materials. However, due to its insufficient cutting force, it is usually used to process lightweight products such as aluminum and copper in bulk. Common products on the market that are processed using drilling and tapping centers include metal frames for mobile phones, couplers, power tools, clocks, coppersmiths, LED lampshades, and other die-casting products.
